Elizabeth Chai is back hosting a special series of World Coffee Championship themed episodes from the 2019 SCA Expo in Boston. In this episode, Chai interviews three World Brewers Cup competitors.
UK Brewers Cup Champion Lewis Maillard
Indonesia Brewers Cup Champion Muhammed Fakhri
Ireland Brewers Cup Champion Stephen Houston
All of SprudgeLive’s 2019 competition coverage is made possible by Acaia, Baratza, Faema, Cafe Imports, Wilbur Curtis, Third Wave Water, Minor Figures, and Mahlkönig.
In 2019 SprudgeLive is home to the Digital Roasters Village, because it takes a village to cover a barista competition. The Digital Roasters Village features Camber Coffee, Verve Coffee, Partners Coffee, Intelligentsia Coffee, Rishi Tea, Kickapoo Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee, Onyx Coffee Lab, Creation Coffee, Amavida, and Equator Coffees without whom this work would not be possible.
We interview Kyle Anderson and Kyra Kennedy, the founders of Baratza, in this episode of the Coffee Sprudgecast. Baratza is known the world over for their home coffee grinders and they celebrate their 20th anniversary this year.
The Coffee Sprudgecast is sponsored by OXO, Urnex, IKAWA, Hario, and Swiss Water Decaf.
In this episode, Elizabeth Chai interviews Dakota Graff of Onyx Coffee Lab and Joe Marocco of Mill City Coffee Roasters.
Joe Marocco works for MIll City Roasters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Marocco is the Coffee Educator at Mill City, a roasting machine distributor and SCA Premiere Training Campus, and they brought a full roasting and coffee lab to Kansas City in the back of a semi-truck and was home to the roasters for the US Roasting Championship.
Graff competed in the 2019 US Coffee In Good Spirits Championship. This marks the first year of this program in the United States. The cocktail and coffee competition has been a World Coffee Events program since 2011.
